1. Getting Started
After registering:
You immediately receive 30 Likes, 5 Super Likes, and 5 Message Requests.
These are your daily allocations to interact with other users and start meaningful connections.
Likes and Super Likes help you express interest in other users:
- Like: Shows casual interest
- Super Like: Shows strong interest, increasing the chance of a match
Message Requests allow you to send the first message once a match is created.
2. How Likes & Dislikes Work
Bumpo uses a unique system to maximize your matching potential:
- Every time you use the app in a session, you receive 1 Dislike.
- Every time you give a Like, your Dislike count increases by 1.
This mechanism helps balance likes and dislikes across the app, so all users have more opportunities to receive likes and matches.
Essentially, the system is designed to boost your visibility while keeping the platform fair.
3. Matching Logic
Bumpo prioritizes users based on location and compatibility:
- Nearby Users: We first show profiles from your city, if available.
- Country-wide Matches: If there aren't enough local users, we show users from the same country.
- Global Matches: Finally, if local or national users are limited, we expand to worldwide users.
Other factors in matching include:
- Shared interests
- Age compatibility
- Activity and engagement
When two users like each other (a "Bump"), a match is created, and you can send a message immediately or later.
4. Push Notifications & Staying Connected
Bumpo sends push notifications to:
- Alert you of new matches
- Notify you of incoming messages
- Provide important app updates
You can manage or disable notifications in your device settings.
5. Daily Usage & Tips
- Likes, Super Likes, and Message Requests reset daily.
- Using the app actively helps increase your visibility to nearby users.
- Respond to matches quickly to maximize your connection potential.
- Fill out your profile completely (name, interests, photos) to attract more matches.
